Elements Could be a Factor

Tomorrow night's Currie Cup clash between Vodacom Western Province and Griquas at Newlands could go to the team who plays the conditions the best.

Even though no rain is forecast for tomorrow night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain tomorrow morning which could make the Newlands pitch even more greasier than what it is at the moment. Heavy rains have battered the Mothercity this week and under-foot conditions at Newlands could be tricky.

A strong swirling wind under lights could also make kicking penalties and conversions a bit tough. The weather office says the mercury will peak at a modest 1! 4 degrees by midday tomorrow with temperatures dropping to less than 10 degrees at night.

But the local boys will be used to the weather seeing that they havn't had a day of sunshine to prepare in this week and their sheer drive to qualify for the playoffs, they won't even notice the bad weather. Expect Griquas to come out firing in the first half and even be within touching distance at halftime but WP's fitness and skill will win them the game by a sizeable margin.

"WP JOU LEKKA DING!!!"
