Big weekend ahead for SA Davis Cup team

South Africa's Davis Cup team has a big weekend ahead.

They will face Belarus in a Davis Cup tie at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Centre in Soweto which begins on Friday.

The match has a lot resting on it, as a win could get South Africa a spot in the world group play offs in September.


The South African's are enjoying good form having recorded nine straight wins.

Rik de Voest will lead the home side and he says they are looking forward to playing at the new venue.

"To be playing here in Soweto where the Challenger took place earlier a few weeks ago is great. Most of the team where able to get comfortable with and it allowed us to make full use of the advantages available."
