Ameeroedien reaching new frontiers

Rayana Ameeroedien has taken a huge leap for woman in the sporting world. She will be challenging for the Muay Thai Woman's World Bantam weight title at the ICC tomorrow. The event will showcase South Africa's talent in the Muay Thai arena. The sport has a lot of similarities to kickboxing, it uses all parts if the body as well as elbows and knees. Ameeroedien initially started training for the sport to raise her fitness and gain self confidence. She says Muay Thai is an excellent sport for woman to get involved in as it builds self esteem and teaches you to defend yourself which she believes is very important to young woman.

Am! eeroedien's will take on Thailand's Nongkarn in her fight tomorrow, the last encounter ended with a loss for the South African. However she says she has been working hard with her trainer to improve her fighting.

The 30-year-old is not only braun and brains but beauty as well. She was featured in Sports Illustrated Beauty's of Sport. Personally I think Ameeroedien is wonderful role model not just for young woman but all young South African's. She shows when you work hard anything is possible.
